Editing Ethics

I believe everyone is amazing and gorgeous just they way they are. Everyone has cellulite, acne is normal and the lumps on my body have birthed children and grew from shared meals with my family. I also believe that art doesn’t have to exist merely to capture what the naked eye sees. If I commissioned a $5000 painting of myself, I would not want the artist to plaster my 2020 stress acne across the canvas. I would kindly ask that they omit that and maybe slim my arm a little.

The fact is, art exists to see things through another’s point of view. I edit artwork to the level that I think your best self is shining through. I do this a bit on the conservative side and almost always, clients request additional edits.
There are amazing documentary style photographers out there that will capture you exactly the way you appear and I am happy to refer you. My studio however will use the tools at hand to bring out the best version of yourself, curate it to perfection and then print it so it may exist long after you.
